I spent the first 15 years of my career on the football field. Recruiting, building teams, and developing young athletes. Now I bring that same energy, strategy, and heart to the world of business.

My journey began at Texas A&M, then took me to Tyler Junior College while I earned my MBA at UT Tyler. From there, I coached at Louisiana Tech during a major conference realignment, helping turn a struggling 3-9 program into a divisional conference champion. I earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology and went on to work under legendary coach Mike Leach at Washington State, where we turned the program into a national contender and set school and NCAA records along the way.

Later, I joined the Saint Anselm College located in New Hampshire as Running Backs coach and worked up to Offensive Line Coach and ultimately Offensive Coordinator. Over six years there, we broke school and conference records and achieved the highest winning percentage in the program’s history.

What I loved most about coaching was developing people. Guiding athletes from boyhood to manhood, teaching them discipline, teamwork, and leadership. That was the real reward.

Now I coach in a different arena: business development for Ferguson Alliance.

As the business development associate at Ferguson Alliance, I help connect family-owned businesses with the support they need to grow, thrive, and build legacies.

In many ways, this role mirrors my work as a coach.

Instead of recruiting players, I’m building relationships with professionals, advisors, and business owners. Instead of developing athletes, I’m helping develop leaders, companies, and generational wealth.

I also support operations, executive administration, and wherever else I’m needed. It’s a family business, after all—and I’m proud to be building it alongside my dad, Rob Ferguson.

My strengths: team building, recruitment, culture, and connection

Football taught me how to recruit top talent, build cohesive teams, and drive performance—fast. In college football, one year is equivalent to five in the business world. Everything moves quickly, pressure is high, and results matter.

I bring that same sense of urgency and execution to my work at Ferguson Alliance.

I also bring the relational side. Whether I’m talking to a coach, a CEO, or a CPA, I connect with people, earn their trust, and help them see how we can support their goals.

Advice I live by: ignore the noise

We live in a world full of distraction—social media, critics, false narratives, and noise.

I believe in staying true to yourself, listening to your gut, and going all in on your vision.

Block out the doubt. Do the work. Build the thing.

About me personally: dad, churchgoer, Eagle Scout, outdoors enthusiast, and brisket fan

I recently moved back to Houston to be closer to family and spend more time with my wife and young daughter.

After years of coaching on the road, it’s been a gift to be home—taking my daughter to school, tucking her in at night, reconnecting with friends, and going to church on Sundays.

I’m an Eagle Scout and used to play the cello (still hoping to pick that back up). I’m learning Spanish (my wife’s native language) and I’m excited to get back to Aggie football games, this time as a fan. Tailgating included. When I’m not working, I love spending time outdoors and smoking a good brisket. Whether it’s exploring Texas nature or perfecting barbecue technique, I’m happiest outside with good food and great company.
